Nowadays, even in the world of supercars, two-pedal systems are the mainstream. From the perspective of easy driving, the superiority of automatic transmissions is undeniable, not only in terms of the speed and precision of gear changes.
In this context, if you're going to enjoy gear changes in a primitive manual transmission car, you'll want to be absolutely meticulous about the shift feel. To enhance the sense of oneness between driver and machine with the Roadster, we focused on the shift lever that connects the driver and the transmission. The mass-produced version is a metal lever with a total length of only about 230mm, and it cleverly incorporates leaf springs and urethane bushings to absorb shift shock and vibration. Even though it's a sports car, the specifications are designed with ease of use and comfort for the average driver in mind.
On the other hand, our aim is clear. First and foremost, we prioritized a direct feel, eliminating the clever mechanisms used in mass production and reducing play in moving parts. Regarding quickness, after carefully examining the feel of operation through numerous prototypes with different lever ratios, we shortened the stroke by 24%. It's neither too heavy nor too light, and has been tuned to have a crisp feel as if your palm is directly connected to the engine and drivetrain. The product can be fitted with mass-produced shift knobs, but when used with AutoExe shift knobs, fine adjustment of the shift stroke is possible. We want you to pursue the shift feel that suits you.
