>Combined with mass-produced dampers, the styling is given a sportier look, and the lower center of gravity improves handling. By lowering the ride height by 20mm and reducing the spring rate to approximately 120%, suspension stroke is ensured, and comfort is also taken into consideration. >>Learn more

---------------------------

A ride height reduction of 20mm is standard. It balances style and driving comfort.

The high ride height of mass-produced cars, designed for a broad audience, is unavoidable due to considerations such as tire chain installation and ground clearance. Ideally, owners would like to reduce the gap between the tires and fenders to give their cars a lower look while maintaining a comfortable ride... Our "lowering springs" are designed for such owners, balancing style and ride comfort.
The key to development lies in the carefully considered settings for the mass-produced dampers that will be combined with the springs. Since the specifications of the dampers cannot be changed, everything is left to the design of the springs. For example, lowering the ride height lowers the car's center of gravity and improves handling performance, but if it is lowered too much, the distance between the center of gravity and the roll center increases, and the amount of roll increases (Figure A). Conversely, if the amount of lowering is kept to a minimum, the styling will not be perceived as changing. Also, because the ride height is lower than that of mass-produced vehicles, the effective stroke amount of the dampers is reduced, so the range in which the bump stopper, which functions as part of the spring, is used increases. For this reason, meticulous setting of the spring and bump stopper combined is required (Figure B). Not too low, not too stiff...the specifications that we have derived from theory and experience vary depending on the vehicle model, but a ride height of -20mm is the basic. The spring constant is calculated based on our unique damping ratio (balance between spring constant and damping force) to achieve natural handling without any abruptness. For a more natural ride, we recommend using this in conjunction with adjustable stabilizer links, which correct the stabilizer arm angle when the vehicle height is lowered.
