Vehicle height -20mm is basic. Balances style and ride quality.

It can't be helped that a mass-produced car designed for an unspecified number of people can feel bulky, with tire chains installed and road clearance taken into consideration. If possible, we would like to reduce the gap between the tires and fenders to make the car appear lower, while maintaining the same ride comfort.For such owners, our ``Lowdown Springs'' offer both style and ride quality.
The key to the development is the careful setting of the mass-produced damper to be combined with. Since the specs on the damper side cannot be changed, everything is left to the design of the spring. For example, lowering the vehicle height lowers the car's center of gravity and improves driving performance, but lowering it too much increases the distance between the center of gravity and the roll center, increasing the amount of roll (Figure A). On the other hand, if the amount of down is kept to a minimum, you won't notice any change in your styling. Additionally, since the vehicle height is lower than in mass production, the effective stroke of the damper is reduced, increasing the range in which the bump stopper, which functions as part of the spring, can be used. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully set the spring and bump stopper together (Figure B). Not too low, not too hard...The specifications we determined from theory and experience vary depending on the car model, but the basic car height is -20mm. The spring constant is calculated based on a unique damping ratio (balance between spring constant and damping force) to achieve natural handling without any abrupt feeling. If you want a more natural ride, we recommend using an adjustable stabilizer link that corrects the stabilizer arm angle when the vehicle height is lowered.
