High-rigidity pipes suppress deformation of the cross member.
The "lower arm bar" suppresses deformation of the pivot (fulcrum) under the suspension. In mass-produced vehicles, the base of the left and right lower arms, which are the mounting points of the open structure suspension, are connected with a highly rigid steel or aluminum pipe to suppress unnecessary alignment changes and support accurate handling. In order to equalize the pressure applied to the joint surface, gussets (reinforcement plates) are placed on the mounting surface. It ensures the highest level of rigidity for a lower arm bar. As for the impact on the minimum ground clearance, it is kept to a maximum of about 15 mm, so there is little impact on practicality. It is more effective to install it in two stages, above and below, with a strut tower bar or floor cross bar.
