Enjoy driving in any situation. Paved roads aren't the only stage for driving. The "CX" name originally stands for the fusion of crossover and sport. Mazda vehicles are known for their elegant, high-quality design, so we wanted them to combine off-road and sporty performance, befitting the name. Of course, the mass-produced version also has these qualities. However, for drivers who are particular about driving, there is surely untapped potential. This off-road suspension kit was created to unleash that potential.
The aim is not to achieve extreme performance like in rallies or cross-country, but to achieve the "room to maneuver" to run comfortably on gravel roads to campsites or rough winding roads. This is a proposal for an active cross-sports car that can handle the vast fields to its advantage.
The basic concept behind this "Street Sports Suspension Kit" is our pursuit of the best ride quality. It is a philosophy of pursuing driving performance without compromising comfort. Based on that sporty handling, we added adaptability to rough roads and aimed for maneuverability that synchronizes with the driver's senses even in ever-changing road conditions.
Specifically, the combination of mass-produced twin-tube dampers, which excel at damping force build-up from very low speeds, and special springs that raise the vehicle height by approximately 25mm, balances off-road performance and maneuverability. Furthermore, the rear is equipped with a damping force adjustment mechanism, which flexibly accommodates changes in load weight. Also, a special stabilizer link is standard equipment that corrects changes in the suspension arm angle caused by raising the vehicle height, making full use of the benefits of an integrated damper and spring design.
