The turbopipe guides the air supercharged by the turbine to the intercooler. In mass-produced versions, which combine a resin elbow pipe and a rubber hose, the long, flexible rubber section repeatedly expands and contracts due to the supercharged air. In addition, the irregularities on the inner wall of the resin section cause air turbulence, which contributes to turbo lag (a delay in supercharging).
