A new concept in body reinforcement that integrates the door and body.

When it comes to actively enjoying driving, the body is the key to supporting the driving experience. It's like the core of an athlete's body. That's why we've pursued the creation of a strong, unyielding frame by suppressing body distortion and twisting through reinforcing parts using high-rigidity oval shafts made of steel, which offer advantages in terms of rigidity.
The essence of it all is to allow the suspension to perform at 100% capacity and minimize the discrepancy between the driver's intentions and the car's behavior. That is the fundamental principle of body reinforcement as we see it.

The new approach they focused on was the relationship between the door and the body. While it might seem like a strong bond, in reality, the weatherstripping is tightly attached. To put it dramatically, the door is essentially hanging on the hinges, with a gap between it and the body, and it doesn't function as part of the frame.
This is inherently necessary since doors open and close by rotating on a hinge, but conversely, it can be said that a large opening in the shape of the door is created in the body.



Therefore, they developed a reinforcing part called a "door stabilizer" that fills that gap and allows the closed door to function as part of the body.
The key to the mechanism lies in the plate with a sliding mechanism integrated with the striker. When the door is closed, the body-side and door-side plates overlap, automatically adjusting to eliminate any gaps in a wedge shape. The door and body become one, and the door, which was previously a panel separate from the frame, instantly transforms into a reinforcing bar.
This creates a robust body that suppresses even slight distortions and flexes that occur during driving.



However, some might wonder how such a tiny plate, smaller than a business card, can connect a door and body hundreds of times larger. The force at play here is static friction between the plates.
You might be familiar with Coulomb's law of friction, but frictional force is not dependent on the size of the contact area. What's important is a large coefficient of friction and a large normal force.
In other words, the high coefficient of friction of the plate, combined with the large vertical force generated by keeping the gaps at zero, makes it possible to strongly connect even small parts to the body and door.



As a result, the vehicle's response delay to steering input is reduced. The initial sluggishness when turning is lessened, making it easier to stay on the intended line when changing lanes or entering corners. Corrective steering is also reduced, resulting in a more on-rails feel with less need for additional or corrective steering. In addition, the vibrations from going over bumps subside quickly, and any lingering vibrations after a jolt are softened, resulting in a firmer ride.
Installation requires no modifications to the vehicle; it's a custom-designed product. The striker side is a direct replacement, and the latch side is a bolt-on installation. Furthermore, the mounting screws are hidden after installation, achieving both mechanical functionality and a high-quality feel. As a part that catches the eye the moment the door is opened, attention has also been paid to its visual appeal, subtly enhancing the sense of ownership.
This product is compatible with a wide range of recent Mazda vehicles and comes in a package of two (one for each door). Two sets are required for 4-door and 5-door vehicles.
